One Cuyahoga Falls family made national news with a special Christmas surprise.
After 14 years, 18-year-old Makayla made her stepdad's Christmas when she asked him to adopt her.
"I've known you since I was five...you took me in as your own."
Since she is 18 years old and legally old enough to make her own decisions, Makayla thought it was finally time to make some permanent changes.
"I was wondering if you would adopt me. It's long overdue. Changing my name and everything."
Needless to say, there were tears of joy running down her dad's face.
