A woman in her 60s is dead after a house fire in Canton Sunday morning.
According to the Canton Fire Department, workers who were near the home heard the smoke alarm going off from inside the victim's home and smelled smoke. They went to check on the house and noticed the windows were blackened by smoke inside.
The workers spotted the woman and forced their way inside, fire officials said. Unfortunately, she had already died.
It is unclear at this time when the fire actually started and how long she may have been dead before she was found. The fire is still under investigation.
