JROTC Cadet Peter Wang was last seen in full uniform holding the doors open at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High, allowing students, teachers and staff to flee to safety as Nikolas Cruz opened fire on Wednesday.
The 15-year-old was one of the 17 people killed that day, dying a tragic, but heroic death. His selfless act saved dozens.
A petition on whitehouse.gov is seeking signatures to allow Wang to receive a full honors military burial. So far, the petition has received 28,160 signatures; it needs 71,840 more by March 18 to get a response from the White House.
