SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — For senior citizens living in isolation away from family and friends during the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be a particularly lonely time for them. The Summit County Probate Court is asking the public to spend some time making homemade cards for seniors living in nursing homes and assisted living centers.

Summit County Probate court will collect and deliver the cards to nursing homes and living centers across the county through June 1. Homemade cards can be mailed to the court. Those who can't print cards can email the court for printing.

"It is a difficult time for all of us, but especially terrible for those who may be confined to just one room." said Judge Elinore Marsh Stormer in a release. "With so many of us restless at home, please take a few minutes to make something fun and cheer up someone who is lonely."

The court asks that cards be free of loose items such as excessive glitter or confetti.
