NEW YORK — The New York Jets are hiring former Cleveland Browns interim head coach Gregg Williams as their defensive coordinator, according to ESPN.
Williams was Cleveland's defensive coordinator for two years before getting promoted to interim head coach after Hue Jackson was fired from the Browns.

He was 5-3 as interim head coach with the team.
The Browns hired interim offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens as their coach, then let Williams go.
Williams has coached in the league since 1997.
