Report: NFL shortens preseason, Browns will play 2 games

CLEVELAND — The NFL has shortened its 2020 preseason to two games, according to ESPN.

ESPN said the league is eliminating weeks one and four of the preseason, meaning the Cleveland Browns would no longer play the Buccaneers or the Bears, but they will still play the Packers and Vikings.

The Browns original preseason schedule was:

  • Week 1: at Chicago Bears, 1 p.m. Aug. 15 (News 5)
  • Week 2: at Green Bay Packers, 4 p.m. Aug. 22 (News 5)
  • Week 3: Minnesota Vikings – 4 p.m. Aug. 30
  • Week 4: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 7:30 p.m. Sept. 3 (News 5)

At this moment, the Browns would kick off the preseason in Green Bay against the Packers on August 22, with the game on News 5.
