CLEVELAND — Sunday is Mother’s Day but the day before marks another holiday for moms— dog moms.
Saturday, May 11 is National Dog Mom's Day, a day devoted to moms of "fur-babies."
A survey conducted by Rover.com found that 75 percent of female dog owners refer to themselves as “dog moms” and 40 percent of those surveyed own “dog mom” apparel.
45 percent of dog moms have referred to their dog as a “fur baby” or” fur kid” and 40 percent just call their dog their “baby," the survey said.
According to the survey, dog moms might be just as dedicated as human moms.
40 percent of dog moms have stayed up at night to comfort a crying puppy and 24 percent have missed work to be home with a sick dog, the survey found.
That kind of dedication might just be enough to prove why dog moms deserve their own holiday.
