CLEVELAND — Clevelanders are famous for declaring that “it snowed way more when I was a kid.” Over the years, it’s become a rite of passage for the older generation to tell the younger generation they had it way worse back in the day. Power of 5 Meteorologist Bryan Shaw shoveled some snow on this myth.
According to the annual average snowfall in any given decade over the last 120 years, the peak snowfall occurred in the first decade of the 2000s.
Turns out the 50s, 60s and 70s had nothing on the end of the 20th century and the start of the 21st.
