The day has arrived. Northeast Ohio is expected to get hit by the first winter storm of the year. Here's what you can expect throughout Saturday.
Depending on where in the News 5 Cleveland coverage area you live you could see anywhere from 3 inches to about a foot of snow. We're not talking about just pretty, peaceful flakes falling. Strong, heavy wind gusts of up to 40 mph are expected throughout the coverage area.
Snow is expected to arrive by late morning and continue throughout the evening. Freezing temperatures in the teens and a wind chill below zero will keep everyone inside.
Make sure to stay safe and if you have to head out into today's storm, you give yourself plenty of time to arrive at your destination safely.
It is more than just the #snow amounts. It is heavy, blowing snow tonight. It is the wind chill tomorrow. It is the gusts around 40 mph. And that's an issue for everyone. #Cleveland #Weather @WEWS pic.twitter.com/EK1Upr9MLF
