The Akron Police Department detective bureau and the Medical Examiner were on the scene on Friday, and returned Saturday morning.

An anthropology team from Mercyhurst University led by Dennis Dirkmaat is helping with the investigation at the request of the Summit County Medical Examiner.

The examination process to determine the gender, race and identity of the remains is a tedious process and there is no time table for when answers will come, officials said.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
