Two University of Akron mascot costumes went missing over the weekend.
A student in the Zippy program realized he had forgotten to return the costume after performing an event. The costume is in the process of being returned.
The second costume is still missing. The costumes are worth about $2,500 each.
A woman who works at the university noticed on May 12 that two of the Zippy costumes were gone, according to a police report filed on Thursday.
