A Cleveland babysitter has been charged after a toddler in his care died from injuries he sustained when he fell from a bunk bed, according to court documents.

Emmanuel Galarza, 28, was charged with child endangering, a felony of the second-degree.

On Oct. 2, police were flagged down and responded to the 8810 block of Detroit Avenue where they found the child unresponsive.

Officers drove 3-year-old Jaeden Gray-Cole to Fairview Hospital but he later died from his injuries.

According to a court affidavit, the toddler had been sitting on the top of a bunk bed when Galarza allegedly hit him, causing him to fall and hit his head.

Galarza waited about four hours before seeking medical attention for the toddler, which "substantially limited the child's recovery," the affidavit said.

A court date has not been set yet for Galarza.
