Authorities seek the public's help in identifying the remains of a woman found in vacant lot

The body of an unknown woman was found in a vacant lot at 5605 Dibble Avenue in 2016.

After exhausting all efforts to identify the woman, the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office and the Cleveland Police Department are turning to the public for help in identifying the woman.

Authorities said the state of the body suggests she was deceased for several weeks prior to discovery.

Further examination reveals the woman had a gunshot wound to head, leading authorities to rule the case as a homicide.

The Cuyahoga County Regional Forensic Science Laboratory developed a DNA profile of the woman, which can be used for comparison purposes.
