The body of an unknown male was found in a driveway outside a home on the 18300 block of Reese Road Sunday afternoon.
EMS supervisor Captain Walworth said the identity of the man is unknown at this time.
Dejenaba Lockett, whose 8-year-old son discovered the body in their driveway, said her son was taking the trash at the time of the discovery.
Lockett called the police and shortly after EMS and the coroner came to her house.
"He had a gunshot wound in his abdomen and once the coroner came, I saw all the blood that was all over the driveway and my car," Lockett said. "It looked like he maybe braced himself on my car so it was a lot of blood."
Lockett, who has lived in her house since 2011, said the neighborhood is usually quiet.
"I've never had any issues since I have lived here. Nothing like this, never," Lockett said.
The man appeared to be in his 20s, according to Cleveland police.
Police are investigating this as a homicide.
