Cleveland Police union president involved in two-car accident

Cleveland Police Patrolman's Association President Steve Loomis was involved in a two-car accident around 5:10 p.m. on Tuesday.

Loomis, who was on duty at the time of the accident, was taken to MetroHealth, but Cleveland Police report no life threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Loomis has since been released from the hospital.

The accident happened on East 87th Street and Buckeye Road. Officials say Loomis was hit by another driver who drove left of center while driving eastbound on Buckeye.

Emergency Medical Services and Cleveland Fire were at the scene.
