Medina Township police continue searching for a person who is firing bullets into homes.

The incidents happened between July 15 and July 17 in the Morning Song Development.

"My husband and I were sleeping and woke me up out of a dead sleep. We heard a shot,” said Rachel Thomas. “It is very scary, you know. I mean this is a community with a lot of kids. You come out and you obviously enjoy the nice weather and now you have to be scared when you come outside to play. It is a little frightening."

Medina Township does not have a firearms ordinance and does allow the discharging of firearms; however, target shooting must be done safely with a proper backstop and in a safe direction. Only those educated on safe gun handling rules should be discharging a firearm. At no time should anyone who has been consuming alcoholic beverages or who are otherwise impaired be operating a firearm.

“This is a little different. This is 5 incidents over several days," said Medina Township Police Chief David Arbogast. "And they are hitting houses. I don't want one of my residents getting hit."

Anyone who may have information on whoever fired the gun is urged to contact Non-Emergency Dispatch at 330-723-5191.
