Indians announce 2018 schedule, home opener set for April 6

CLEVELAND - The Indians are going for 20 straight wins Tuesday night and fans can use the excitement to look ahead to next season.

The Tribe announced their home opener for the 2018 season, set for Friday, April 6 against the Kansas City Royals. The team's season opener will be March 29 against the Seattle Mariners.

The home opener will begin a ten-game homestand that includes a three-game series against the Royals (April 6-8), a four-game series against the Detroit Tigers (April 9-12) and a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays (April 13-15). Another ten-game homestand will take place from July 6-15 against the Oakland A's, Cincinnati Red and New York Yankees.

The 2018 season will feature six big summer weekends at home:

  • June 15-17 vs. Minnesota Twins
  • June 22-24 vs. Detroit Tigers
  • July 6-8 vs. Oakland A's
  • July 13-15 vs. New York Yankees
  • August 3-5 vs. Los Angeles Angels
  • August 17-19 vs. Baltimore Orioles
