Hello to everyone who watches News 5 through our streaming apps on Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire. And hello to anyone thinking about doing so. We’ve made a bunch of changes to our programming we want you to know about.

Local programming
When coronavirus led to the shutdown of Playhouse Square and our local arts scene, we started talking to the Cleveland Ballet about how we could bring a slice of Cleveland’s cultural arts to everyone at home. We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be streaming a pair of Cleveland Ballet performances over the next two Saturdays. Check out “Alice” on June 20 and “Carmen” on June 27. To watch them, go to Roku, Apple TV or Amazon Fire, hit the back button and scroll to the Cleveland Ballet shelf.

But that’s not all. Our partnership with the Cleveland Browns includes Building the Browns, which just wrapped four off-season episodes. If you didn’t catch this inside look at what has been a most unusual offseason, the episodes are still available on our streaming apps. We’ll have more from the Browns as we get closer to the season.

And yet another Cleveland favorite: During the Academic Challenge season, which runs from winter through spring, we post every episode of this classic high school quiz battle.

Even more news
Monday through Friday you can watch News 5 all day. In addition to our news programs like Good Morning Cleveland, we’ve added a replay of the last hour of GMC, and replays of News 5 at 6 and News 5 at 11. The big change, though, is the recent launch of News 5 Now, which is a half-hour block of local and national news programming, plus weather, that runs between our regularly-scheduled shows.

The rest is the same
You can still watch our news reports, online livestreams, news programs and Cleveland and Akron weather forecasts. When you enter the News 5 streaming app, you’re automatically taken to our live feed. To watch a specific video, such as the latest weather report, hit the back button on your remote and scroll down to access our video-on-demand (VOD) offerings.

How to watch
You can watch all this local programming on the News 5 Cleveland app on Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube TV, DIRECTV NOW, Hulu Live and more. We're also on Amazon Alexa devices. Learn more about our streaming options here.
