Family favorite holiday films like "Home Alone," "Elf," and "The Santa Claus" are nice and all, but for action movie junkies there is one great Christmas movie. For many, the 1988 blockbuster "Die Hard" is the best Christmas film ever, even if some traditionalists think it's not a Christmas movie at all.
With one tweet, screenwriter Steven E. de Souza confirmed "Die Hard" is, in fact, a Christmas movie.
According to Mashable.com, the issue was settled when CNN's Jake Tapper asked the Hollywood screenwriter his thoughts on the film being considered a "Christmas flick," to which Souza responded cheekily with what diehard fans of the movie already knew.
Yes, because the studio rejected the Purim draft #DieHardIsAChristmasMovie

Souza also tweeted a photo showing his bare feet and wearing a sweater with the iconic phrase, "Now I Have A Machine Gun Ho-Ho-Ho," as an ode to the film.

Now that "Die Hard" can join the ranks of the greatest Christmas films of all time (or at least in this author's opinion) just one movie remains left that would pair perfectly with it — I'm looking at you "Lethal Weapon."
Merry Christmas, and God bless us, everyone. 🎄 pic.twitter.com/xOA0SyGWCg
