This is Juliana.
She is one of the kids we talked to as part of a series we are working on with University Hospitals and Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Juliana has Rhabdomyosarcoma, a disease in which malignant cells form in muscle tissue.
We talked to 4-year-old Juliana while she was in the hospital for a blood transfusion. Her mother, Shardai, told us about the day she found out her daughter had cancer.
"I’m drained from driving out here every week by myself," said Shardai. "Being a single parent to three kids. It’s hard and it’s draining and it’s emotionally draining and physically and I’m starting to have heart problems now because of everything. It’s draining. It really is."
Throughout September, you’ll see stories, like hers, on our Facebook and Instagram pages, as well as on newsnet5.com.
