Firefighters in North Randall are monitoring hotspots after a large fire broke out at former Magic Johnson Movie Theatre by the old Randall Park Mall.
Investigators were at the scene Thursday evening trying to determine what caused the fire. It spread to the roof and into at least one theatre. North Randall officials tell newsnet5.com that no injuries were reported.
The fire was mostly contained as of 10:40 p.m. Thursday.
Bedford Heights Fire Chief Ken Ledford told reporter Homa Bash the biggest challenge was getting water to douse the flames because the complex is a vacant demolition site.
Randall Park Mall was closed in 2009. Demolition began in December 2014.
