Residents on Cleveland's west side are reporting that numerous car windows were shot out overnight. Cleveland Police confirmed at least 25 cars were targeted.

Neighbors are now on high alert. They said about 15 cars were shot on just one block - near the intersection of West 112th Street and Western Ave.

Charles Dagg was cleaning up the mess left behind on Thursday. He said two of his cars were vandalized.

“I kind of felt upset but my wife was more upset than I was,” he said. “I told her, it was just a window.”

While Dagg is upset, he said he is trying not to sweat the small staff. He said at least no one was hurt and nothing was taken.

Dagg said he can also fix the damage himself.

“I'm a mechanic, so I could put the window in myself,” he said.

However, if you're not a mechanic like Dagg, just replacing the window can cost hundreds of dollars.

“It's too bad, because everybody works hard for their money,” said Rothacker.

David Rothacker's car window was also shattered.

“I think they're idiots, because breaking stuff up in people’s property, you know it wasn't like they were stealing something to get money for drugs," Rothacker said. "These guys were just vandalizing.”

One neighbor had surveillance camera showing a suspicious car that may have had a weapon inside driving by a little after 4 a.m., but the video is dark and grainy. It does not show anyone getting out or touching the cars.

“I have a couple of big dogs, and I’ll just keep my eye open,” said Rothacker.

A police spokesperson said there could be even more cases than the 25 that have been reported near Lakewood.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cleveland Police.
