Airport renovation complete before RNC

City officials say project is done 3 weeks early

After 18 months of construction, and added stress for travelers, the Cleveland Hopkins Airport's rehab project is complete.

City officials say they finished up three weeks early, but crews are still putting the finishing touches on the overhaul.

Cleveland natives and travelers from out of town told newsnet5.com that the end result was worth all the hassle.

"All things are going well! The Indians are in first place. The airport is looking great. Downtown is looking awesome. What more could we want," traveler, Steve England, said.

Cleveland Hopkin's Director, Fred Szabo, told newsnet5.com they will wrap up finishing touches by the end of the week.

"Now it's basically going through the punch list and cleaning things off," Szabo said.

"They'll be done by the RNC?" We asked.

"Oh, absolutely," he said.
