The Cleveland Police fifth district vice unit gets tough on underage liquor sales, busting clerks at two city gas stations on the city's east side.

Police report they made arrests at the Gas and Go at Waterloo Road and Calcutta Avenue and the Sunoco at 15504 Waterloo Road.

Police said they used an underage informant who went into both locations and bought beer. In both cases police said the clerk did not ask for identification.

Police said Gas and Go has been busted for underage liquor sales multiple times, the cases will be turned over to Ohio Liquor Control.

Cleveland Police public information officer Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia told newsnet5.com repeated offenses could cost a location its liquor license.

"Putting liquor into the hands of young people is very dangerous," said Ciaccia.

"We do need the public to be involved. You want these crimes to stop in neighborhoods and we need the information, so we go out and have our officers enforce."

Both clerks face up to six months in jail and $1,000 fine.
