How to check your car for unrepaired recalls before you buy it

An Ohio woman said she bought a used car, but she found out she was driving a dangerous vehicle after the dealer never bothered to fix an important safety recall.

New cars cannot be sold, under federal law, if they have been recalled. However,  it turns out there is no state or federal laws requiring a dealer to fix recalls before selling a used car.
