These days Patricia Parker of East Cleveland believes the only place she can safely fall asleep is in her bathtub.

Parker told newsnet5.com she is so afraid of rodents invading her single unit at the Forrest Hill Terrace Apartments, she taken extraordinary measures to insure her safety.

In the past month Parker has blocked nearly every electrical outlet and vent in her apartment, and said she has repeatedly contacted PK Management to address the issue at the high rise complex.

Parker pointed to cell phone video of a rodent caught in glue trap at the base of her refrigerator.

She has rodent traps and mothballs set up all over her apartment, and has all the door bottoms blocked with towels.

"What I've been trying to do is trying to keep any potential vermin out from places that I know I go to regularly," said Parker.  "So I feel comfortable in the bathroom."

East Cleveland City Council has been made aware of the reported problems at the complex.

East Cleveland Councilwoman Barbara Thomas is planning to call in the Cuyahoga County Board of Health and city housing inspectors.

"Everybody just can't go in a scoop up a mice, and say okay, you're going down the toilet," said Thomas.

PK Management responded immediately to our story and explained the extermination process is already on-going.

The management company sent a letter to Parker explaining the entire building is being checked, and exterminators will continue to follow-up.
