AKRON, Ohio — Twenty-five Akron Public high school girls received a special gift and the opportunity to shop with Savannah James at her annual I-PROMise event to ensure girls have the opportunity to attend prom without having to worry about how to pay for it, according to News 5 media partner Ohio.com.
This was the ninth year for the event to help Akron teenage girls feel their best, and everything was free.
“These girls are beautiful,” she said. “You don’t need a prom dress or shoes to know that. They should always feel beautiful and good.”
Dillard’s Department Store set up a special pop-up store with high-end dresses, fancy shoes and fittings with Dillard associates.
