An argument over a piece of property led to the arrest of an Akron man on Tuesday after he allegedly covered a woman with pond dye.

Daniel L. Mallory, 56, was charged with assault.

Police were called to a house on the 840 block of Grant Street around 3:25 p.m. When they arrived, the victim answered the door. Her entire face, hair and teeth were covered in a bluish/purple color, police said.

The woman told authorities she had been in an argument with her upstairs neighbor and he thrown an unknown liquid on her.

According to a police report, Mallory appeared highly intoxicated and told officers the liquid he threw on the woman was pond dye.

Mallory was arrested and taken to Summit County Jail.
