Journey to the Reef, a popular exhibit at Akron Zoo, will close on Nov. 19, the zoo reported on its website.
The reef exhibit was located in an indoor hall in Komodo Kingdom and was designed to switch up exhibits every 3-4 years, Akron said. It first opened on May 26 in 2012 and saw more than 1.4 million visitors.
The zoo has yet to name the exhibit that will replace 'Journey to the Reef,' but did say the new showcase will open in spring 2017. The new exhibit should also include some similar aquatic animals to the reef exhibit when it opens.
Akron Zoo will host a party to finalize the closing of the exhibit on it's last day.
