The Canton Fire Department is closing three of its stations because of budget constraints and officials say it might not stop there.
The fire department announced Friday it is being forced to close Station 5 on West Tuscarawas Street, Station 6 on Harmont Avenue and Station 10 on Vernon Avenue.
Officials say they might also have to close Station 2 on Belden Avenue SE due to future budget shortfalls.
Station 1 on 7th Street SW, Station 4 on Cleveland Avenue NW , Station 7 on O'Jay's Parkway NE and Station 8 on Dueber Avenue SW will remain open.
Battalion Chief Tom Garra said the people working in the closing stations will be moved to other departments.
Chief Garra said they are down 20 to 25 paramedics and firefighters so they don't have enough manpower to keep the stations open.
