AKRON, Ohio — Akron police have arrested a man and a juvenile who are accused of robbing an elderly couple at gunpoint while their vehicle was stuck in the snow.

Police said shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday, a couple on Brighton Drive were robbed of their cell phone and a purse.

The couple said they were having trouble backing out of their driveway due to snow.

Two males stopped to help the couple. While they were helping them, one of the males pulled out a handgun and demanded their property. The male victim handed his wallet and his wife's purse from the front seat of the car.

Both of the robbers fled north on Brighton Drive and then ran behind a house. The victims called police.

Officers tracked the robbers' footprints to a location on Brighton Drive and arrested the males.

Treyvon Wright, 20, and a 16-year-old were charged with two counts of aggravated robbery.

Officers recovered a handgun, the victim's purse and the victim's wallet.
