A four-day-old infant was abducted and left at a church Sunday morning in Akron.

Around 11 a.m. Sunday, Akron police found a four-day-old infant that had been dropped off. The infant's grandmother later came to the church for the baby, but paramedics on the scene took the infant to Akron Children's Hospital for a follow-up.

The infant did not appear to be injured or harmed.

Officers located the grandmother's live-in friend, 39-year-old Bureda Wells, who police said took the infant without permission and drove it to the church.

Wells was charged with kidnapping and booked into the Summit County Jail.
