The Summit County Prosecutor's Office announced Tuesday the arrest of a man who is accused of failing to pay more than $33,000 in back child support.

Investigators say Matthew Uhr has not made a child support payment in more than 12 years.

Uhr, 42, was recently discovered living in Shreveport, Louisiana. Summit County Child Support Enforcement Agency investigators tracked Uhr to Shreveport after discovering his mother lived there. Shreveport police eventually arrested Uhr on charges of criminal non-support. He was then extradited to Summit County.

A Summit County grand jury indicted Uhr on February 15, 2012 on charges of non-support. An arrest warrant was issued after he did not appear in court and failed to pay his court ordered child support.

When Uhr was arrested, the mother of his child received a lump sum payment of $15,000. Uhr still owes $18,526.61 in child support and is currently being held at the Summit County jail.
