A man has died after getting shot during a fight and crashing a vehicle into a pole in Akron.
According to Akron police, a large fight broke out in the 100 block of Long Street around 7:52 p.m. Wednesday night. The 28-year-old man was shot during the fight and then jumped into a Ford Van.
The man drove down the street to the 200 block of Long Street where he struck a pole. The vehicle flipped onto its side.
The man was taken to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. It is unknown at this time if he died from the gunshot wound or crash. The incident is currently under investigation.
