AKRON, Ohio — The victim of an Akron homicide on Sunday afternoon has been identified as a 28-year-old man, according to the Summit County Medical Examiner's Office.
Karrtel McGowan, 28, of Akron, was identified as the shooting victim.
The shooting happened at around 1:15 p.m. near the intersection of Crosby and Gale streets in Akron.
The autopsy has been completed and the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest and the manner of death is homicide.
