PD: Homeless man robs Akron McDonald's

A homeless man demanded money at the front counter of a McDonald' Saturday night and a clerk reached into her own wallet and gave him $40 cash, police reported.
The alleged robber, identified as Randell Smith, 37,  then fled the McDonald's, located at 1365 Vernon Odom Blvd., according to authorities.
Police reported to the McDonald's shortly before 10 p.m. and later arrested Smith in the 1400 block of Hawkins Avenue. Officers found crack/cocaine and a glass smoking pipe in Smith's possession.
Officers charged him with robbery, possession of crack/cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police. Smith was booked into Summit County Jail.
