A 6-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Akron Monday evening.
According to Akron police, the Tallmadge boy is in very critical condition at Akron Children's Hospital after the crash.
Police say the child was riding a bicycle near Lucy Street and Duane Avenue around 7:51 p.m. when the child went through a stop sign and was struck by a car driven by a 24-year-old Akron woman.
Investigators do not believe the driver was at fault but police say she was cited for having a suspended license.
Police originally reported the age of the child as 8 years old.
The crash is under investigation.
