No storm. No wind. So why did the power go out at the courthouse in Akron a few hours ago? Our media partners at the Akron Beacon-Journal are reporting that it was a squirrel that knocked out power on Friday morning in part of downtown Akron.
Via the Beacon-Journal:
The squirrel got into a substation on Carroll Street at 8:39 a.m. and about 364 customers lost power, including the Summit County Courthouse. Power was restored at 9:08 a.m., FirstEnergy Corp. spokesman Chris Eck said.
Squirrels are notorious for knocking out power and also for being adorable, which is probably how they keep getting away with it.
