When most people think of St. Patrick's Day things like corned beef and cabbage, parades and green beer come to mind. To others, the old Frank Sinatra song 'Love and Marriage' comes to mind.

Judge Kathryn Michael of the Akron Municipal Court had a full day of couples lining up to get married. At the end of the day 18 couples tied the knot, complete with photographs, rings and shamrocks.

The judge has a theory on why St. Patrick's Day is so popular, "I think the men like to get married on holidays so that they don't forget their anniversary dates. I think that's part of the motivation."

Judge Michael also says she loves performing weddings, because it is the only time people come to court and are happy to see her wearing a robe.
