AKRON, Ohio — On Monday, Cleveland Browns representatives announced the team is donating a high-quality synthetic turf field for Akron Public Schools' Ellet High School.

This installment is the ninth multi-sport playing field to be funded since 2016 through the Browns' and Dee and Jimmy Haslams' charitable commitments.

The field at Ellet High School is expected to be completed prior to the start of the 2019-2020 school year. The field will be available not just to students who attend the high school, but to other youth and groups in the community.

On Tuesday at 2 p.m., the team will host an official groundbreaking ceremony for the new field.

Last year, new synthetic turf fields were donated to Lorain City School District's George Daniel Field and Toledo's Roy C. Start High School for multiple male and female high school sports and other programs.
