Two men were held up at gunpoint and two other men were robbed near a garage on Spicer Street, police reported.

Police were dispatched to the 500 block of Spicer Street for a robbery in progress.

One officer said he spoke with Thomas Calderone, 59, and David Sax, 50. They told police they were working at the garage at the Spicer Street address. An unknown man ran into the garage and went to the back of the shop. As he ran in, two suspects ran after him with guns.

The witnesses said one of the suspects pointed a gun at them and told them not to move or he would kill them. The unknown man ran to the back of the garage as the other suspect followed him. The suspect cornered the unknown man in the back and demanded his belongings. The unknown man gave up his things.

According to the police report, the suspects then fled on foot toward the Tyner/Thornton area. The unknown man then ran over to a Hyundai and left the area.

Another man, identified as Richard Bronner, 38, told police he was also robbed. He said as the suspects were fleeing the scene, they ran up to him and ordered him to empty his pockets. They took his wallet and $700 in cash from him.

Police said an unknown witness told one officer she saw two men with masks running up Thornton Street to the Tyner area. She said she saw the men as they got into a blue Mercury Grand Marquis. According to her, another unknown man was driving the car and then they all left the scene.
