An 18-year-old man will spend the next 41 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to multiple charges in connection with the shooting of two young girls in Cleveland last year.

Justin Jarmin was sentenced in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday after having pleaded to charges of participating in a gang, attempted murder and improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle.

On Oct. 16, 2016, Jarmin, who was 17 years old at the time, was the passenger in a car when he opened fire at a group of people standing on Dudley Avenue in Cleveland, prosecutor's said.

The bullets hit a 3-year-old girl in the face and a 9-year-old in the back. The children were rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Both have since recovered from the injuries, authorities said.

Authorities said Jarmin also pleaded to charges relating to another incident that happened at an RTA station located at West 150th Street on Jan. 3, 2017. That incident involved a 76-year-old man who was thrown to the ground and robbed by Jarmin for one dollar.
