Black and Blue Side by Side: Photographers connect police with community

Project organizer Al Wasco says it's an attempt to connect African Americans and police through a project he is calling Black and Blue Side by Side.

He's called on the help of photographers to snap pictures of the community and police.

Billy Delfs is one of many photographers taking part in the project.

The goal is self-explanatory. Wasco recruited him.

“My modest attempt to bring people together as opposed to drive them apart with fear and suspicion,” said Wasco. “I was so dismayed by the Republican convention. They don’t have to pretend to be friends. The fact that they’re willing to stand side-by-side is a significant thing. The race of the cop is not gonna get them any favorable treatment.”
