The City of Cleveland will begin disassembling the gazebo at Cudell Recreation Center--the site of the 2014 police shooting that ended in the death of Tamir Rice.
City officials announced Friday that they will start disassembling the gazebo next week.
According to the mayor's office, the city had considered dismantling the gazebo previously but couldn't due to pending criminal, civil and administrative cases.
Now that the gazebo is no longer needed for evidential purposes, the city can have it removed.
Earlier this week it was announced that the City of Cleveland would pay Tamir Rice's family $6 million to settle a wrongful death lawsuit over the boy's shooting death by Cleveland police.
