A recruit for the Cleveland Division of Police was arrested in Columbus on Valentine's Day, officials reported Monday.
Cleveland Division of Police Recruit Deshuan Wells was arrested by Columbus police on Sunday for a charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and having a personal handgun in the car while intoxicated.
Police said Wells will be placed on restricted duty in the Cleveland Police Academy pending further action by the City of Cleveland, Department of Public Safety.
Wells will not return to the Ohio State Highway Patrol Academy in Columbus, police said.
