Local response to Brussels terror attacks

Tuesday morning's terror attacks in Brussels have the rest of the world on high alert.

newsnet5.com reached out to local agencies to find out if they will be increasing security in response to the attacks.

Cleveland police

City of Cleveland's Dan Williams told newsnet5.com they are not stepping up security in the city or at the airport.

Regional Transit Authority

The RTA released this statement to newsnet5.com:

RTA and all transit systems have been on a heightened security protocol since 911.

We are monitoring the situation closely, although there is no specific threat known to the US.

At this time our officers and our eight K-9s are providing and overseeing security on the rail and bus system, as we continue to receive intelligence regarding this international situation.  

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport

The Cleveland airport told newsnet5.com to reach out to Cleveland police for comment (see response above). newsnet5.com is also waiting to hear back from the TSA.
