On Tuesday the Cleveland branch of the NAACP passed a resolution in support of the campaign for $15 minimum wage.

In the resolution they state the average minimum wage salary pays $16,200 per year, which is $3,890 below the poverty level for a family of three.

They also said the "struggles of working people of color to win just compensation, equal treatment, and the right to form a union without retaliation have long been essential to the advancement of people of color."

Raise Up Cleveland, the group that is leading the campaign said "We know the people are with us in this fight, and the NAACP's endorsement further proves this fact."
