A Cleveland police car was hit by a man who was sleeping behind the wheel early Wednesday morning.
Cleveland police say they boxed in a sleeping man sitting in his SUV on East 105th Street north of Chester Avenue around 4 a.m. Wednesday.
With a police car in front and behind the SUV, the officers attempted to wake the man.
Police said that when the man woke up he started spinning his tires and pushed one of the police cars out his way and then took off.
Police pursued the man to East 74th Street and Superior Avenue where he jumped out and ran a short distance before being arrested.
Cleveland police officers were not injured during the incident.
The police car had its back bumper bent into the hood. The hood of the car had a large dent but was able to be driven and was used in the pursuit.
Cleveland EMS checked the man but he was not transported.
