Car found wrecked, abandoned after police chase in Cleveland

Posted

Cleveland police were led on a short pursuit early Thursday morning that was quickly called off but the car involved was later recovered.

According to police, the chase started after a stolen car that was taken at gunpoint last month was spotted at the Sunoco at the intersection of East 74th Street and Superior Avenue around 3:10 a.m.

When officers tried to stop the car, the driver took off. After about 5 minutes, officers called the chase off for safety reasons.

Around 3:30 a.m. the car was found wrecked and abandoned in the middle of West 65th Street and Hough Avenue.

Police said they hope surveillance video, along with possible finger prints, will help them find the two men that were inside the car.
