UPDATE: Cleveland Police locate reported abduction victim and suspect

UPDATE: Cleveland Police have recovered the auto involved in this morning's suspected abduction and have located both the suspect and victim. This matter is reportedly a domestic violence situation and the victim at this time refuses to cooperate with the investigation and refuses prosecution.  

Parties involved are reported to be intoxicated at the moment.

CPD reports that a male has been arrested for domestic violence and felonious assault.

This matter continues to be investigated.

The Cleveland Division of Police is seeking the public's help in identifying a man they suspect of abducting a woman on Saturday morning. They hope the video below can help.

NOTE: The vehicle is first seen in the parking lot. Then at 10:08:53 the man is seen grabbing the woman on the sidewalk (lower right corner of video player)

At around 10 a.m., officers responded to E. 89th and Carnegie for a possible abduction. Witnesses reported seeing a black man grab and beat a black woman and force her into a vehicle.

The man is described as a black, muscular, approximately 5' 7" tall wearing a grey hoodie and grey sweats.

The woman, the possible victim, is described as black, slender, approximately 5 ' 4" tall wearing a black jacket, tan shirt, white knit hat and blue jeans, and carrying a large brown purse.

Vehicle description:

  • black Audi SUV 4-door
  • possible partial plate of GWT
  • license  plates may be bent as witnesses who followed the vehicle reported seeing the male exit and intentionally bend the plates

Anyone with information that could help identify the man or the woman or provide information about their of the whereabouts is asked to call 216-623-3084.

If you see the vehicle, police advise you to call 911.
